Ode to the Creative Orientation by Alison Nanyce
My life will never be the same again having completed Living From Greatness, the precursor to the Magician’s Way training, in 2003. In the year 2000 I was 30, single, ending a business, not sure where to live, directionless in my career, well in my life really, severely depressed, in a very dark place and wanting my life to end and for the pain to stop. Sometimes alcohol would temporarily numb that pain. I looked for love in all the wrong places and wound up more depressed and directionless in the process.
It’s now the year 2006. I am married to the man of my dreams, I have two beautiful children, I live in a seriously gorgeous house by the sea, I have an incredible community of friends and extended family and I have been running my dream business The Mermaid Project for the past two years. And most importantly, I have my intuition and the creative orientation tools I received in the training every single day of my life. And I use these virtually every day of my life.
I use the creative orientation when working with my clients in my mentoring business. I used it to vision my wedding (not a dry eye in the house) and for the birth of my two children (not a dry eye in the labour). I used it to find my dad (oh yeah, I grew up in a single parent family, never knew my dad, never had a photo) but while doing the training, I used the creative orientation and found my dad in the process – HUGE!!! And oh yeah, he came to my wedding, and oh yeah he and my mother are now getting married (I’m serious!!!).
I use the creative orientation to help my friends, my neighbours, my community, my clients, my partner, my children, my osteopath, my column readers, strangers on the street. I use it as preparation for meetings, writing stories and articles, creating my dreams… I use it for pretty much everything!!!
More recently I used the creative orientation to expand my business and include a publishing company into the mix, known as Mermaid Books. It will launch with one of my books Recipes for Everyday Life (helping people to cook up the life of their dreams) and we have five books on the go right now from other authors which will launch next year (I only put it out there about two months ago and the five projects just appeared). And I used the creative orientation every step of the way to bring my book and the new business to fruition.
One of the most valuable things I’ve found in using the work is that I can use it with other people. I have met my friend Miriam nearly every week since finishing the training to have a creative orientation session. I am part of a women’s group that have met virtually every month since completing the course and I have an intuitive business partner Kris, with whom I use the creative orientation each week to guide our dreams. I am also a member of a business visioning group where we only use the creative orientation to lead us in our businesses.
At the end of the course I wrote a testimonial something along the lines of: “If you could only spend your money on one thing on life, I urge you to spend it on this course, for when you do you can go on to create anything you want for the rest of your life.” I stand by these words and will always be grateful to Darren Eden for guiding me on my path and introducing me to the creative orientation which is now a part of my everyday life and I thank William Whitecloud for his incredible creation. For without these two men or the creative orientation I would not be where I am today, I know that for sure.
