No Longer a Floppy Elastic Band by Susanna Ofaelain
The theme of the Magician’s Way Intensive is that we each have a Heart Myth (who we are and what we love) and an Identity Myth (our thoughts, feelings and beliefs that distract us from our heart). Susanna Ofaelain from Suffolk Park attended the pilot program in Byron Bay and shares her experience of the program with Jamie Louise Bloom:
Jamie: What did you learn about your Heart Myth (who you are and what you love)?
Susanna: I did Living from Greatness, the precursor to The Magician’s Way, in 2000 and 2001, and at the end of both trainings I saw it was my truth to be a Mum. It didn’t seem possible at the time, since after the first training I was in a relationship that wasn’t true and after the second I was single; however in the years since then, I have created it.
Even though I’ve been creating my visions, it doesn’t necessarily mean that I have been enjoying them. I realised by going to the Magician’s Way Intensive that I was living my truth but not receiving how great it was. I found the Intensive very powerful because until then, I hadn’t been applying these principles to my life. While I was pregnant, I got into a lovely baby place but I wasn’t focused on creating what I loved. I wasn’t using tension to create.
From doing the Magician’s Way Intensive, I’ve learned that it is important to reframe what I have created and know my next end-result. Otherwise I’m a bit of a floppy elastic band: I’m living an end-result that is meaningful (for example, having a family and community life), but I’m not in touch with the next end-results that I want to create. I found the workshop very empowering to reconnect with my vision as it stands now, to be a creator again, as opposed as a receiver of my previous end-result.
Jamie: What did you learn about your Identity Myth (your thoughts, feelings and beliefs that distract you from your heart)?
Susanna: At the Intensive, I learned that my identity is really a pervasive mindset. I saw that it is like my posture on life; it is where I stand, or where I place myself in relationship to my life and my truth. I heard one thing on the weekend that I now remind myself of frequently. Claire said: “If you’re not receiving guidance or in your innocence, then you can assume you’re in your identity.” Until I heard that, I’d been living with the belief that I could naturally not be in my identity. However, I am now accepting that I’m automatically in my identity, and rather than making it bad, I acknowledge that at any given time, I can do a written guidance and receive my truth. That was really powerful for me.
I learned that I often expect it to be difficult to move towards what I love, whereas on the weekend it was revealed that I’m practically living it, that it’s just my relationship with it that needs moving. I believe I have to struggle, and sacrifice things, and I have a negative perception about what will it be like. But when I receive my vision it’s so tangible already. The key is to receive it practically, with my life as it is, in my heart, as opposed to being tied up with my identity.
Jamie: What did you learn about the action to create what you love (innocence, intuition, observing the obvious, making it up)?
Susanna: I’ve learned to apply the written guidance more regularly in my life and to have that as a great resource. I just found it very beautiful and moving and I am amazed because there has been streamlining in this work since 2000-2001 and I am amazed at the immediacy now of people’s access to their intuition. The premises have assumed more possibility, that people’s ability is immediate, and they don’t need steps in between before they are intuitive.
Jamie: What impact has the weekend had on your life?
Susanna: It really confirmed a new direction for me that I’d just started to move in. Because of that confirmation, it has empowered me in taking steps to move towards my end-result. I’ve been doing some work already, since my husband, Grant, is doing the year-long Teacher Accreditation Training, however the weekend really solidified it for me. The biggest thing I would love is to have another child but I was doing a bit of this and a bit of that, and avoiding the biggie. The month before, I was tuning into it. The bridges that came up for me was to simplify my book-keeping and arrange for others to do things that I’m not going to want to do when I’m pregnant or with a young baby. I was on the verge of that and the Magician’s Way Intensive confirmed it was the right direction for me. I now feel much more empowered and committed to creating what I love.
Jamie: Would you recommend The Magician’s Way Intensive to others?
Susanna: Absolutely, particularly for people new to the work. I saw people who came in fresh who got incredible shifts and understanding, and who reported to get a lot out of it. Plus, of course, we all had a lot of fun!
