on: Jeremiah O’Toole
Jeremiah O’Toole
is a big warm cuddly man whose presence I can feel even as we talk
over the phone in the early hours of a crisp morning in August. There
is an ease and openness about him as he tells me his story….
In 1998, Jeremiah
had over 50 people managing his extensive investments and business
interests, but with a marriage that had just dissolved, and his
business funding beginning to break down, Jeremiah was depressed and
sinking further into a dismal and uninspired world. He began to lose
interest in his work and he let his business fall apart, literally
walking away from millions of dollars. He then sold his mansion on
the Gold Coast and moved into his sister’s granny flat in Brisbane.
He tells me that he spent six months “under the doona,” seriously
depressed and venturing out only because he felt obliged to make
daily appearances to his sister.
When he emerged from
all this angst he decided that before he created a new business or
relationship he needed to take a serious look at his life. So
Jeremiah started searching… he climbed up the mountain to a
Maharishi but decided he was a “dickhead” when he saw him get
abusive about an allegedly offensive floral arrangement. He did a
silent retreat which was “quite nice”, and continued his various
ramblings into the world of spiritual and personal development.
Somewhere along the
line Jeremiah came across William Whitecloud and had an intuitive
session which he admits was a bit of a shock at the time. The truth
can sometimes be that way at first. But what William imparted about
Jeremiah’s heart and his life purpose touched him so deeply that he
remembers it vividly today – and went on to do The Magician’s Way
Training in 2006.
The training, along
with daily practise of The Magician’s Way work, led to a whole new
way of living for Jeremiah O’Toole. He shifted his life from an
experience of reacting to circumstance to masterfully creating what
he loves in the world. He did this by using the tools he learned in
the training to refocus his energy on being real, and reconnecting
with people and with life from his heart.
I ask Jeremiah to
tell me what has changed for him since he embraced The Magician’s
Way work.
“Well there are
heaps of things that have changed,” he says, “but for instance in
2005 I needed to find 5 million dollars in funding for an investment
I was working on, and I did create it, but it was a massive struggle,
costing me a huge effort, lots of time, stress and legwork to get the
end result.”
Post training 2006
and “things really started to flow. My finances have been
blossoming. My whole business has sparked, and I have just created 50
million in funding with the potential for a further 100 million to
come. It still takes work but is effortless really by comparison –
flowing easily from my conscious choice to live my life from my
heart.”
There can be no
doubt that Jeremiah is creating phenomenal wealth using the tools
that he has learned with The Magician’s Way, but what is really
amazing about Jeremiah is his heart. His life is about more than just
end results now, it is about fulfilling the promise he made to
himself before he was born.
I ask Jeremiah what
the story of his heart is all about.
“It really comes
down to the code I created for myself during the training. My code is
to live my life with unconditional love, abundantly from my heart and
without separation.”
Jeremiah’s vision
is to take a global leadership role by building communities where
people are living from what is highest in them and creating magic
together. This starts with creating a commune to live in where there
is no separation by race or sex or age or financial status or
anything else; where children are as important as grandparents, women
are as valued as men, the poor as much a part of the community as the
rich.
“But really,” he
says, “it doesn’t matter where or how you do it. I mean, you can
create a commune in a high rise building. It’s not about what you
eat or the food you grow or solar power but rather an end to the
separation that we instinctively create between each other as human
beings.”
Jeremiah is working
towards healing the earth in his own way, from his own heart. And
really, his phenomenal ability to create wealth is in service to his
vision of bringing love and magic to the earth.
The truth is
Jeremiah is living out of a whole new orientation. His life is no
longer about trying to survive a series of uncomfortable
circumstances, but about bringing his soul into the world. This is a
shift of monumental proportions.
I ask Jeremiah what
life was like for him before he came across TMW:
“Well,” he says,
“the essence of me was there before but I didn’t have the
conscious tools to really live from my heart. I was trying to make a
difference but finding myself just behaving reactively. Really I was
just trading hurts with the people I worked and had relationships
with – they would offend me in some way, then I would retaliate,
and so on. I was making millions but unable to hang on to them – I
would lose them again soon after. My wheels were spinning and while I
thought I was doing okay I had no true joy in my life.”
So what is different
now?
“Lots of things.
Now when I have an argument with a work colleague, instead of taking
it personally and reacting, I just know that their true essence is
incredibly beautiful, and I treat them accordingly. I can live in the
world without having to take on the angst of others. It gives me the
freedom to live my heart’s bliss and I also instinctively set
others free to be whatever they want.”
I ask Jeremiah for
an illustration of this shift in his life.
“I’ll gladly
give you an example,” he says. “I serve on the board for a local
Rudolf Steiner school and it became obvious to me that they needed to
employ a Principal because the teachers are overworked dealing with
administration and other issues and the employment of a Principal
would give the teaching staff more time to concentrate on the
educational aspects of the school. This may seem like an obvious
thing but Steiner Schools are very against the introduction of
Principals into their system and I had no idea how this was going to
happen.”
In the past,
Jeremiah tells me, this situation would have been a major stumbling
block for him. In this instance though, he was able to remain
focussed on his vision for serving the school, its teachers and its
students.
“Magically, the
idea of appointing a Principal was agreed on and the benefits of that
appointment are now flowing through the school,” he says joyfully.
It occurs to me,
listening to Jeremiah talk, that I’m speaking to someone who has a
masterful relationship with life. By his own admission he still gets
pissed off and has his bad days, but overall Jeremiah comes across as
someone who can choose how he wants his life to be. He speaks
confidently, and it is clear he has a deep knowing of his ability to
create what he loves in the world.
“Now, when I’m
heading to a difficult meeting where I think I can’t have what I
want, I just consciously choose how I want it to go, and lo and
behold, things turn out just as I envisage, if not better. I have
hundreds of examples of things like this. Whenever I choose to come
from my heart, end results that I think will be difficult end up
being simple and easy to create. Magic really does happen in my
life.”
Of course, it’s in
the obvious as well. With a great relationship, family, and a highly
successful business, Jeremiah is quite clearly doing all right in the
world.
I have to let him go
in the end – Jeremiah has to rush off to Brisbane for a number of
meetings to organise his latest multimillion dollar business venture.
For myself, I have known him for a long time, and I have seen
Jeremiah develop into a man who is all about the heart, and who
always has a loving hug for the people he cares about. It’s a real
pleasure to know him.
